Estimator/Project Manager

Description:

Walters Marine Construction is looking to add an estimator/project manager to its professional staff. This position also requires the person to manage the work they successfully acquire.

Qualifications:

• A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Quantity take-off and cost-estimating experience
• Proficiency in on-screen take-off, online plan rooms, HCSS, job cost accounting systems, and Microsoft Office a plus
• Detail-oriented with a proven technical ability

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Perform electronic project searches and respond to “Invitations to Bid” from general contractors
• Perform quantity take-offs, both electronically and manually, to determine the amount of work to be performed
• Estimate the cost of performing the work
• Prepare proposals and related bid documents for presentation
• Follow up on proposals presented and negotiate the final price on projects
• Prepare post-bid documents and field operations packets on successful projects
• Handle material submissions on successful projects
• Place initial material orders and schedule the project with operations
• Handle change orders and closeout documents
• Assist the superintendent and foremen in the interpretation of plans and specifications
• Subcontractor procurement and management
